LIVING HOPE christian preschool & day care testimonials
I used to work at Cornerstone Christian Preschool, now Living Hope Christian Preschool about 8 years ago as a sub, so I know how stressful it can be to chase other people's children around all day! As a teacher there, I would sometimes get in 'the zone' and go with the flow, go with the routine. At that point, I was just a teacher with no children of my own. But I loved those kids with every ounce of me, I really did.
My son will be 5 years old next month. He has been going to Living Hope since he was about 2 years old.
A few nights ago, my mother and I were trying to convince my son to pray on his own. Usually one of us prays with him and asks him for his prayer requests and so on. This particular night my mother told him that HE could pray, he knew very well how to do so. He hesitated and said he didn't want to. We agreed that he could say a sentence, my mother would say and sentence then I would say a sentence and so on.
We folded our hands, shut our eyes and waited on him to start the prayer.
My son lay in his bed, hands folded and eyes shut. He smiled and started off... "Our Father, who art in Heaven..."
After he finished The Lord's Prayer without skipping a beat or missing a word, he opened his eyes to find both mine and my mother's jaws dropped. I had tears in my eyes and my heart was about to burst.
My mother and I looked at each other and asked if the other one taught him that. Neither of us took credit for it. We turned to him. I asked my son, "Who taught you that?! Where did you learn that prayer?" He grinned and replied, "Mrs. Alice! I've been listening and listening and finally I said it right!"
After gushing to him about how proud I was and how much I loved him and all the mushy mom stuff, I hugged him, kissed him and said goodnight.
The point is this:
I've been a teacher at that preschool. I know it gets to be an everyday thing; A routine. Go in, teach them some Bible stories, pray before meals, play The Fish on the radio. Routine. But those children are listening. They're learning. They're absorbing the things they see and hear. They're bringing it home to their parents and their siblings. It's becoming ingrained in them and it's remarkable.
Having grown up in a church, his Lord's Prayer blew me away and brought me to tears. Imagine what that could do for a family that didn't go to church, that didn't know the Word. These children can be the testimony to their PARENTS simply by going to a Christian preschool.
I'm so grateful for the things my child is learning, the things he has already learned. My cup runneth over.
I just wanted to send a quick message to tell you how much I appreciate your staff! I drop Ty off in the morning so I mainly have interactions with Ms. Amber and Ms. Freda. Both ladies show Ty so much love and have so much passion when they tell me about his development and what he did the prior day. My husband, Timothy, picks up in the afternoon and has the same to say about Ms. Breanna, Ms. Robin and Ms. Rachel. Also, Ms. Kelly (2 classes up from Ty's) is always friendly and speaks to Ty and I in the morning.
We thank God every day for blessing us with the ability to send Ty to your preschool and look forward to more years to come!
Again, thank you so much!
